The AMO was constructed in the 1950s as a corporate venue for cultural events, conferences and congresses. The easily accessible multifunctional complex is located in the heart of the city, embedded in a one hundred year old park, where it offers a perfect venue for conferences and congresses, shows, concerts, classical music and ballet performances as well as rock and pop events.
With three different function rooms, all equipped with the necessary amenities, the AMO is able to meet the requirements of professional and private organisers as well as offering service and framework conditions tailored to their needs.
Moreover, the AMO presents a very attractive venue for combined events where all three levels of the building are in use. The popular carnival event which has been held by the University of Magdeburg for many decades is a perfect example of how the great hall (1700 standing), the small hall (200 standing) along with the Boerdestube (100 seating) and the Magdeburg Salon (50 seating) of the AMO become alive and vibrant with music and dancing.
If you would like to organise an event in the summer, you are able to take advantage of the great hall and adjoining garden where direct access is provided from the hall to the garden offering standing room for 1500 guests.
