When entering the city from the north (travelling on the A2 motorway, then the B71, B189), continue on Magdeburger Ring until you reach the exit marked "Zentrum, Hauptbahnhof". Continue along the main road towards the city centre and central train station (PLEASE NOTE that the bridge has a height limit of 3.40m). On Ernst-Reuter-Allee, pass the central train station and then keep to the left lane when you reach the Allee Center, turning into Jakobstrasse shortly afterwards. St John’s Church is situated on the right, immediately after the crossing. Pay and display parking spaces can be found next to the church (1.5km from the Magdeburger Ring exit).

When entering the city from the south (travelling on the A14 motorway, then taking the exit marked “Sudenburg, Zentrum" onto the B71, B189), continue on Magdeburger Ring until you reach the exit marked "Zentrum, Hauptbahnhof", which turns off to the right, leading you towards the city centre (PLEASE NOTE that the bridge has a height limit of 3.40m). On Ernst-Reuter-Allee, pass the central train station and then keep to the left lane when you reach the Allee Center, turning into Jakobstrasse shortly afterwards. St John’s Church is situated on the right, immediately after the crossing. Pay and display parking spaces can be found next to the church (1.5km from the Magdeburger Ring exit).

On exiting the central station (using the exit marked „Zentrum“), go across the station forecourt and to the tram stop "CITY CARRE / Hauptbahnhof" on the left.  From here, take any of the trams travelling in an eastward direction (towards the city centre), and exit at the next stop (which will be either “Allee Center” or “Alter Markt”, depending on your tram number, journey time of approx. 1 min). Walk down the road Ernst-Reuter-Allee, which leads towards the Elbe river, and, after 500m, you will have reached St John’s Church, which is situated on the left.
If you wish to walk to the church from the station (journey time on foot approx. 10 min, approx. 1km from the central station), simply follow the tramlines in an eastward direction towards the Elbe river.

Magdeburg Commercial Airport is situated in the south of the city, in close proximity to the B71. Travelling by car from the airport, take the B71 in the direction “Stadt/Zentrum”, travelling on Magdeburger Ring until you reach the exit marked "Zentrum, Hauptbahnhof", which turns off to the right, leading you towards the city centre. On Ernst-Reuter-Allee, pass the central train station and then keep to the left lane when you reach the Allee Center, turning into Jakobstrasse shortly afterwards. St John’s Church is situated on the right, immediately after the crossing. Pay and display parking spaces can be found next to the church.
