The Lake Stage - A Portrait

The most fascinating open air stage in North Germany.

The Lake Stage is the Elbauenpark’s architectural highlight, constructed on the occasion of the German Federal Garden Show (BUGA) in 1999. The covered amphitheatre is surrounded by water and is one of the most attractive open air venues in North Germany.
The five stands are arranged like petals and offer a seating capacity of 1556, with a wonderful view of the natural scenery, including the lake, poplar copse and large “Angerwiese” meadow.
The Lake Stage plays host to numerous national and international cultural events, shows, operas, operettas, musicals, dance events and theatrical performances every year.
Its technical equipment includes a sound studio, which enables live broadcasting and recording, a public address system and lighting trusses.

The Lake Stage is situated at the heart of the award-winning “Elbauenpark” and therefore is able to offer event organisers not only a location for after-show events, but also interesting potential combinations with the activities and attractions on offer in the park.
Sanitary facilities and entrances are certified handicapped accessible.
Magdeburg’s Elbauenpark is situated on the eastern side of the Elbe river, close to the city centre. It is easily and quickly accessible through use of the designated parking guidance system.
